Misty Grey

She has things to do, like occupying sunbeams, drinking out of the bathroom sink, and being beautiful – on four legs, or three!

05-20-14 – Happy 14th Birthday Misty!

Filed under: Uncategorized — ddmckenna at 3:29 pm on Tuesday, May 20, 2014

Today is Misty’s birthday – we got her from the animal shelter on July 20, 2000 and they said she was two months old so I made her birthday May 20. I feel bad because we started out her birthday this morning with ear medicine, but treats and breakfast and a short while sitting in the back yard enjoying the morning breeze made up for that. Now she is upstairs asleep on a comforter on the floor in the spare room. A comforter that I really should have put into the laundry weeks ago, but I have been putting that off because she claimed it and she looks so cute curled up on it asleep.

Later, when she is up and around again, I’ll feed her some rabbit from the freezer later as a special birthday dinner. I’ll try and post a photo of her enjoying that. 🙂

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEET MISTY!!

‘Been having trouble being able to respond to blogs for a few days, but did read avout all your ear challenges. Poor thng. But you are a mighty good kitty to let your momma try and fix your ears.

Nothing better than spoiling a tripawd! If Misty keeps sleeping on yor laundry, yoh may just jave to buy new clothes rather than disturb the “Princess”!

You enjoy your birthday Misty and chow down on that rabbit!!

Hugs and love!

Treats are an important part of our bonding and routine. Without them I’d really have no way to motivate Misty to do any particular behavior. And we have some habits that are part of our relationship where treats are involved. For example, while sitting at the table eating dinner, I usually get a visit from Misty where she walks up purring and puts her front paw on the side of my chair and leans in for a pet and then she sweetly says “Mrrrroooo?” And I give her a little piece of whatever meat is on my plate. Now instead I try to keep some treats around to hand her instead. That allows us to keep that routine alive without risking more allergic reactions. Nowadays I’ve also been feeding her Blue Wilderness duck flavored treats, and those work to put into her Kong (rabbit meat didn’t).
